Blinkx Beat is a great way to explore and enjoy online videos. It allows you to create custom playlists and rate clips, so you can easily find the videos that you like. The video-on-demand features are also quite useful, as you can easily access and organize your watching environment. The full-screen options, resolution and playback speed customization are also great features that make it easier to enjoy online videos. All in all, Blinkx Beat is a great tool for discovering and enjoying online videos.
Blinkx Beat is a small utility that shows popular videos from the web on your desktop. The movies that this application plays are really entertaining as they are selected from the most popular online videos ever, therefore, they include a lot of cool and amusing stories about stunts, bloopers, funny pranks, cute animals, and so on.
Anyway, other than the played videos, there are few aspects that you can appreciate about this tool. It comes with an annoying lack of usability in general, as if you want to watch some interesting videos, you could just use a browser and visit YouTube or any other similar video streaming website. I’m sorry to say it, but Blinkx Beat doesn’t offer any remarkable difference to make itself be a desirable alternative. It only allows skipping or replaying a video and setting itself as the default system screensaver but, besides, there are pretty much no other additional features or options. You can’t select which types of videos you’d like to play, you can’t choose an order or manage playlists, you can’t tweak the quality of the played videos, etc.
It might be a neat little free tool, but Blinkx Beat didn’t convince me. It doesn’t only look old and outdated, but even its main purpose and functionality feel rather meaningless.
